UVW unwrapping

This is a screen shot of my tie fighter and the unwrap uvw
as you can see from the screen shot the tie fighter has plain colors and doesn't really look like a tie fighter by the use of unwrap uvw i will be adding colors to my model to give the model a greater look.

1. To do this you will need add the unwrap uvw to the modifier list, select polygon and then select all the sides you wish to shade in. Secondly you will need to choose the type of projection you wish to use, which are box map, spefical map and various more.

2. next you will need to open the uv editor, flatten the image and after doing that you will need to render the image.

Evaluation
I had a lot of errors when unwrapping my image. Forgetting to make the image solid, flattening the image and not selecting all the faces of the model, i could have made my models texture more professional if i had up to date software when texturing the models reason being that i was using paint to shade in the textures of the models, due to this it doesn't give the models the professional look i was looking for.

Improvement
Going to read up more on the different tools available on the 3DS max program which will enable me to have a greater understanding of the tools so i can apply on future models. install up to date programs on my laptop such as Photoshop and various different software to give my models a more professional look in the near future.

On the left are screen shots of the three models that i have textured for my animation.

Lightening and Skydomes
This is a screen shot of me creating a sky dome for my scene, to create a more realistic feel when creating my animations i used a variety of different tools such as.

Tools used: gizmo tool, xform, geospehere, move rotate, scale and the normal modifier
Above is the final image of my skydome which has a normal modifier and has flip normal enabled.

Evaluation:
I had various errors when creating the skydome. firstly it was really hard to find a 360 image of a sky most of  the sites i visited either wanted a payment or just not the right fit merging the image onto the geosphere. another problem i had was merging the image onto the geosphere.

Improvements
Improvement swill be to practice more on the program and find a more reliable source for images.

Lightening

Above is a screen shot of the dolphin without any light, i will be showing you a before and after shot of the difference. i will be adding omni lights to give the dolphin a greater effect.

After
In this screen shot i have added omni lights to the surroundings of the dolphin to give it a more professional feel, as you can i have added lights and the other side of the dolphin has shadows.

Evaluation
I wont be adding any lights in my animation reason being that i feel that i'm not that experienced and just going to keep it simple. In the near future i would add lights to give the animation a more professional look.

Animation
Evaluation of the animation -

1 . In my animation i added various angles shots  to give the mini clip a professional look and to grab the viewers attention with the different types of camera shots. when attaining different shots, I struggled added cameras to a path, had to look at different tutorials.

2. When merging my models into the terrain i had an error of the texture not working properly, when i render movements the models will loose the chosen texture and turn invisible i couldn't fix this problem in my animation. Improvements will be to find out why this problem occurred and learn from it, to make better animations clips in the near future.

3. When making the animation i  rendered to many clips which totaled my animtaion to 1 min and this was unacceptable reason being that the animation had to be 30 seconds long so i had to trim the clip down. Due to doing that i lost a lot of vital clips. improvements will be to be more precise about how many clips i will need to to stop this from happening in the near future.
